Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Simulating Accidents?

I'm a fairly avid flight simmer, I use X-Plane 10 and FSX (more accurate systems simulation). I tend to simulate various accidents along with normal flights, for instance the Concorde accident. However, I've noticed varying reactions from simmers. Some think it's in bad taste, others that it's not accurate enough. I do read the accident reports before doing it.

I simulated the Concorde accident in XP10 (better aerodynamics) and FSX (ridiculously inaccurate at low speed aerodynamics simulation) and actually reproduced the result - it's impossible to climb away with gear down and two engines either gone or on reduced power. I simulated the 737 rudder hardover incidents using PMDG NGX and, besides the autopilot not disconnecting, it went as advertised, and I wasn't able to pull out of the dive without overstressing the aircraft.

    Does anyone else do similar?
