Five-time Olympic gold medallist Bode Miller will have a lot of making up to do with his wife after hitting her in the face today with a golf ball.
    By Declan Whooley
The skier may be talented on the slopes, but it appears his accuracy on the golf course may not be to the same standard.
Today Miller and his wife Morgan went for a round as they often do, but it proved to be a painful experience for Morgan as she was hit right in the face from a tee shot.
The pictures taken afterwards look pretty bad indeed and she required more than 50 stitches after getting the whack near her eye.
Luckily for her husband, Morgan was in forgiving mood and took to Twitter to not only show her bruised face, but to also to re-iterate her love for her husband.

As admirable as that is, we can’t imagine that was her initial reaction when she got hit at about 160 mph by the ball.

Though in true American style, she didn’t miss a commercial opportunity, and thanked her sunglass makers, saying that they helped absorb some of the impact.

How did she get hit from a tee shot? Was she standing in front of the ball?

    It's a baseball term.

As the batter stands at the plate the baseball diamond is going at 45 degree angle (roughly) to his left and right. If he hits it and the ball goes low and a sharp angle, it's known as a line drive (i.e. down the line of the diamond).

Can be quite dangerous as there are usually fans at the pitchside seats and also players warming up just off the diamond and them balls come at you very, very quickly.

As you can see, it can also cause a fairly serious injury in golf as well!

Edit: I feel like I have explained that very poorly so here is a pic, anywhere a couple of yards left or right of the red line is a line drive (my paint skills leave a lot to be desired as well!)

Nope. Its any baseball shot that is low and hard, whether it is at an angle or not is irrelevant. I reckon bodi must have gotten her with the old lucy locket.
