    Hi,
Does anyone know if the books that can only be borrowed for one week are allowed to be borrowed for one month instead over the Christmas break?

Yup, any loans issued from December 14th - 21st are 1 month loans.

I got a book out on Friday and it's a month loan so that's fine but I renewed one online today and it's due on the second of January. Is that a mistake?

I think its just the books taken out on the Friday that got the one month return; I renewed a book on Friday but it was still due in a week.

I renewed a book today and it's now down as a month loan.

EDIT: My bad. I meant 2nd of January!

Hold the phone. I've had 3 books out and been renewing them online. The first one I took out is on week 5. Next time I renew it, will it be renewed for a month? Do the Schols special borrowing rights cover that?
Would hate to have to spend about 2 hours going all the way out to James' library just to renew books

Only books borrowed (not renewed) between December 14-21 are eligible for a 4-week loan. As far as I know, if you renew your book online it will be due back on 2nd January, but you can renew it one more time which will bring you up to the 9th of January (provided nobody has placed a hold on/reserved it).

The only way around this is to return the book and borrow another copy this week.

Schols special borrowing rights allows you to borrow extra books. The borrowing periods are unchanged.

Hmm..Just checked and I'm actually on my 6th renewal.
Does that mean if I renew it online when it's up on the 21st, I'll have it til the 2nd?
Might just do that and suffer the late fees til I finish on the 11th
