Lost Freeview signal in south Wexford

Hi, am wondering if other people have lost Freeview signal from Wales/Devon. Was told that the signal transmission strength has been dropped from Preseli and therefore I'm not getting a strong enough signal to display - is there any truth in this? if this is case is there anything that can be done to improve or boost the signal without spending a load (apart from installing satellite)

    Thanks,
    Andrew

The only changes announced for the Preseli transmitter took place on Oct. 31st: the BBC B (HD) mux. moved from channel 50 to ch. 40 & the Arqiva B mux. moved from ch. 49 to ch. 39.

    No change in power levels.

Preseli is working fine up here in Arklow.

Since early December we've now got ch4 HD which means we now have the full suite of UK freeview channels (inc sky news, pick,Dave etc after mt leinster 45 went) and saorview all on the one EPG.

ITV 1 HD is from the central region on Preseli ,which is interesting.

Freeview has been working perfect. I disconnected satellite going to main room and just watch Freeview and Saorview now.

OP You would need to state exactly where you are, what transmitter you are using for Saorview and which one you think you are using for freeview.

Channel (frequency) changes may cause your old aerial system to no longer work. Normally installers use a combiner to combine UK and Irish channels. When channels move frequency the old combiner may not longer work. In fact it may now be stopping the signal getting through.

You could ask the original installer for help as he/she should be aware of local conditions. A satellite setup would have more channels and be more relaible in the summer, but also costs more per TV.
