Bandwith and online gaming?

I'm with UPC & comparing my bandwith with friends it seems very low. Mine is 400kps (ish) my brother is in the 3000s and a mate over 8000. Anyone know if this effects gamonmg and if so can it be adjusted somehow?

All you need is a good ping. Once its below 60ms you should be fine in any game. As for the speed . 1Mbit is enough
