You know those people who sell razor blades on Henry street around Christmas? I don't get the racket, how can they sell them so cheap? How is it worth their while? Why don't they sell them all year round?

    Are they

    a) Smuggled or stolen something?

    b) Counterfeit blades? Is that a thing?

    c) A cover for something much more profitable that I'm too pure and naive to know about.?

    Educate me, After Hours.

Have you tested them yourself to see are they any good?

Might be tempted myself, have the annual shave before Christmas coming up. I only see my relatives at Christmas so they think I don't have a beard.

cos they fell off the back of a truck, isn't that the normal line given by those sellers?

The answer is: b) Counterfeit blades? Is that a thing?

    Yes it is.

Buy some for yourself, partner. You'll get blades that are blunt, fall out, have side supports fall out (springy tab that keeps blade in place), or the lubristrip will not do your face any favours..

One of the Irish channels covered the Christmas stalls a while back, I'm leaning towards TV3, but I think RTE also did a feature.

The thing is each stall on Henry Street has to have a license in order to sell there...

So yeah. They be selling stolen or counterfeit goods in plain view. For everyone to see. Makes you laugh :)

TV3 did a piece in 2010, as far as I can remember.

    Here's a boards.ie thread about it: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=76471495

MAC make up is still available at startling prices.

They're mainly used to trim or shave off facial hair.

A better question is where do these people come from?

What do they do the other 11 months of the year!

If I'm going to drag a blade across my face, I'm certainly not buying it off Anto on Henry Street. I'm too pretty, it's just not worth it.
