Im very new to this . BOught a behringer f control audio interface . It was firewire so I needed a firewire express card for laptop .
The laptop I had (a good one Acer multimedia something ) didnt fit the express card (Iee1394) .
I dug out an old laptop HP with windows vista.
Plugged everything in and downloaded all drivers . The computer recognises the interface .
I then downloaded some ****ty little recording program and the volume levels the computer was picking up were really low .
I decided I needed a better program and downloaded reaper . Still picking up volumes so low I cant hear them when played back . The little bouncy wave line barely moves .
There is only one volume button on the interface and that is for the headphones . I turned it all the way up and all the way down . Nothing still the same. Tried all the wires in all the different holes checked manuals , thats where the wires go .
Anyone any ideas if been at this days now and I just wanna record a song . And Im out of money.

Seems like you bought wrong interface. You want one with instrument input.
Any chance you can return it to the store?

Not really I bought itsecond hand off a musician that seemed like he needed the money more than I did . So I wanna not have to return it to him . He was a decent chap .

Hope you didn't pay too much for it...
If you are based in Kildare i have M audio usb interface lying around.
No need to buy it - we can swap with yours until you finish and then swap back. Christmas coming, why not to help someone in need.
Not 100% sure if it works with reaper, but it should (worked with Cubase and Ableton with no issues).

Id drive there for it . Id do it permanent swap if you wanted . I could get protools fairly handy .
The reason I have reaper is cause the m box wasnt available at the time .

This is the one you have i believe?

The price different new is 7 euro. If you are happy to make straight swap with no cash difference, I'm fine with that.
You don't need pro tools to run it btw. Send me PM if you are interested, don't want to break any rules on the forum.

Its 66 new with software, mine is 59 with software...
Mine came with Ableton live originally, the one on Thomann is with PT Essential. It has nothing to do really with PT so the value is in interface mostly.
Don't feel weird - I am not using mine any more, might need yours to record from desk at rehearsals. No need for instrument/mic input for me.
