that would depend on when the item was sent? what carrier sent it? what service level was used

Have had a few things, all small packages that came via An Post, in usually four or five days.

Not sure if An Post handle the larger packages from the UK mail service any longer though.

I'm getting stuff delivered from Amazon, ordered on the 11th received an email saying two of the items will be delivered on the 24th (phew Santa is cutting it close this year) and the other item will be delivered on the 21st. I hope there is no delays...

Had a gift shipped from the UK to Parcel Motel's Northern Ireland address and, from there, dropped to Dublin. Left the UK on Sunday, in my hands Wednesday evening.

I placed an order with free delivery from Amazon on Saturday last, ( 1 large box to Cork and another smaller one to Tralee) both arrived today via An Post. (By today I meant Friday - wrote this after midnight :) )

I placed an order on Ebay and another site on Wednesday and Friday last week, both sending items via Royal Mail (1 parcel sized, other letter sized) no sign of them yet this week :(

Incidentally, Royal Mail have a handy Service Updates page. So you can see if there are any issues like weather causing delays.

You can also see Royal Mail's xmas cut-off times for delivery Internationally here.

Amazon are very accurate with their delivery dates. Usually arrives before..

But getting a letter/parcel from the UK by normal Royal Mail is different I think, as Amazon have their own couriers to deliver to Eire in the first place, then it's just normal An Post service delivered to your door.

I ordered a product from a UK website on Thursday night, dispatched Friday via royal mail. I'd be lucky to receive it next week I'd imagine. Are An Post open for business next weekend i.e. Sat 22 and Sun 23?

They'll have the usual opening hours for Saturdays (usualy open till 2pm in most areas on Saturday closed on Sunday) until the 24th >

Check the bottom of this page for their office hours. Top of page is about delivery times.
