Applying for job with only one of the subjects listed. Do or Don't?

    Hi all,

I'm an NQT desperately trying to get some work. I thinking of applying for some posts even though I only have one of the subjects.

I teach a core subject. Feeling very despondent that I only have one 'real' subject. I've been doing a lot of volunteering etc. to keep my CV looking as attractive as possible while job hunting.

What do people think. Is it worth a shot or seeing as the market is totally flooded am I wasting the schools' time?

It's worth applying anyway. If you're not qualified, you probably won't get the job or even an interview if we're going to be realistic about it but you never know. It's not unheard of for jobs to be changed depending on what's available and one think I can tell you for absolute certain: you won't get the job if you don't apply for it.
If nothing else, if you apply the school has your cv and you might get a call sometime in the future.

I don't know where people get the attitude "is it worth my while applying?" Unless you're so short of money you can't afford the stamp and the paper for your cv, apply for everything you have even a small chance of getting. Do you want a job of not?

Thanks for the reply. Of course I want a job! Just wondering if I'm being a nuisance applying if I don't meet the full criteria.

I'll apply and see what happens. :)

Apply for everything. You can be sure that everyone else in your position is. The worst that can happen is that they go 'heydeldel doesn't have both subjects' and bin your cv. if you apply at least you have a chance.
