Raceblades rubbing - why?

Treated myself to a new pair of Raceblades the other day - the old ones were falling apart! I set them up carefully, there appears to be fairly equal gaps allround and they roll without rubbing when peddalling normally. However, when I stand up and push hard they start to rub off the front wheel. I've read here that others have had the same problem and I'm trying to figure out what's going on? Surely if my Aksiums were flexing that much they would be rubbing off the brake pads as well - the gaps are about the same - 5mm approx!
    Any thoughts?

Front wheel flex. Ah, you seem to have ruled this out. Are you 100% sure the brake pads aren't rubbing either?

I can't see how it is anything else though. 5mm sounds like a very big gap between race blade and tire, I don't remember mine having that much clearance. Just measure my full mudguards there and between the inside of the mudguard and the tyre is about 3mm.

But then the brakes would rub too?

What sort of fork do you have?

It's a Giant TCR Advanced so I'd be surprised if the fork was flexing! I guess it can only be the wheel flexing and maybe one of the "stays" is closer to the tyre than I think ... I'll check in daylight tomorrow!

Old thread I know but thought it may be of some use to folk. Fitting these on to my Giant Bowery was a bit of a pain. Rear raceblade fitted just fine but front just wouldn't sit correctly.

I cut off some of the rubber grip, 2 holes wide. Cut 4 this size in total
Placed the upper band on either side first to secure it.
Then stacked 2 of them together to leverage the mudguard away from the tyre.
Result is not pretty but it'll keep you dry from front spray.
