Thought I'd start a thread for suggestions for boxing books for Christmas 2012
I came across this one today and will be getting it. It looks excellent.

From watching Adam a lot on Ringisde it seems like a great choice to find out so much more about the sport and his involvement and love of the sport.

Looks like that has the makings of a good book. Not sure about Adam Smith though...

Anyone read any good boxing books?

Kenny Egan and Bernard Dunne's autobiographies were decent. Also read an amazing book on Ali by Thomas Hauser who is an excellent boxing writer. Read a book on the Irish heavyweight Jack Doyle, that was intriguing.

i've been reading 'A Flame of Pure Fire: Jack Dempsey and the Roaring '20s', which is about exactly what it sounds like.

his life was pure hollywood, sometimes literally. can't believe of all the boxing stories out there his hasn't been translated into a great movie yet.

That sounds very interesting. You cannot beat a real life story. I rarely read fiction. Nothing comes close to the real thing.

I still think the best boxing book I've ever read (and I've read a lot) is 'In This Corner' by Peter Heller.
It's an old book published in late 60's/early 70's.
They have interviews with over 40 surviving former world champs.
Each chapter is just long enough to get some real interesting stuff in, but not long enough to drag on.

    I'd highly recommend it.
