Im ordering sky for the parents as a christmas pressie and going through fatcheese to get the discount but I dont need a sky box as I have both a regular and hd box that I can use but it wont let me put the order through as I need to select a box to checkout. My question is if I select the normal box can I explain when they call me and have it removed from the order? Also, I had previously installed a dish for uk free channels and would like to keep that in the room where its currently setup and have sky install in the main room. Will sky install a new dish or simple add a quad lnb to the current one for the second feed? Will they waive the installation fee if they use the same dish? thanks

If they send someone out they will not waive the fee. Most likely the installer will want to install a brand new dish, to guarantee it will work for the first year. The normal dish they now install has 4 connections. They don't like going up on the roof so will install low down on South East side of house.

The best box is Sky+HD idealy with 1TB storage. You could sell your old boxes if needed. I am not sure what you would be charged but it's likely they won't refund anything.

I thought if you only order one box these days it's automatically Sky + HD with 500GB drive?

I don't mind paying installation and getting new dish as they will have to run new cables but I have a regular sky box and a hd box sitting around doing nothing.

Is your existing box a + box (allows recording). Also is it a black one or a white one?
The black one allows "ON DEMAND" via the internet, while the older white one does not.
