Anyone know anything about the vat grouping directive. Revenue and Taxud maintain this is a vat neutral process - looked at purely on how the process is suppose to operate one could see one's way to that position but we live in the real world and the directive must be considered in the broader context of the market. Specially in regard brand ownership by UK companies who go on to draw up an Euro price list for Ireland - therein lies one of the concerns with this directive these UK companies are determining the price into Ireland - there is no mandatory requirement in Ireland for sterling based companies to apply a trade or retail price list that is in keeping with the price within the Uk mainland. historically the market has told us Ireland has been uncompetitive at retail level - there is evidence to suggest that this problem has in part its origin in the vat grouping directive primarily because of the very fact that the State and Taxud refuse to look at the bigger picture here. Anyone else encounter this annoying directive.?

I think my comment makes about as much sense as your comment.
