So I'm new to this whole retro gaming malarky and I'm looking to indulge in a spot of collecting too. However, as I am completely clueless, is there such thing as price guides somewhere on the internet or is eBay searching my best bet? I just have the fear that I will overpay for some absolute tosh.

Completed ebay listings are usually a good reference

    This.

That's the best price guide you're ever going to get really. It far surpasses using actual price lists as it will always be up to date.
