Just read in the Chronicle about the job losses in Welch Allyn. This is very disappointing as Meath has precious little manufacturing and not losing almost half of the workforce cannot be a good thing.

The company are saying that the remaining jobs are safe but it seems to me tyo be only a matter of time for the other jobs. Perhaps there has been some state supports and that is why the other jobs are being kept, it would seem unlikely that the plant would continue to be cost competitive in Navan with these postions gone.

Best of luck to the employees in finding new employment.

Seems our county development plan doesn't believe in job creation/retention.

No idea what's going to happen here in the future, it really would sadden you.
