I'm trying decide on a new pair of boots to buy and these are my choices. I have aigle at the min and find them a great boot. Never had the hunter boots so don't know what they are like. Has any one any opinions on them? And if you had the choice which would you go for

I have the hunters, great boot and the toes always stay warm in them, good insole aswell, have done 7 or 8 hours in them already this year and they are comfortable out. Only thing is they are big fit, if you take a size 10 try on the size 9 and or more than likely the better fit!

I could live in my neoprene hunter balmorals.
They are the most comfortable shoes I own.
I am very fussy about footwear.
I have had them for over three years now and I use them all the time and they are still like new. They are wearing well...
Don't think about it for another moment, you will not be disappointed with hunter balmorals.

As I said I had aigle for the last few years and found them brilliant but they are more pricey than the hunters so thats swaying me towards the balmorals

I have a pair of toggi, hunter balmorals and a pair of aigle.I find the Hunter good ,i picked them up failry cheap at john norris ,they are seconds, the hunter logo is slightly off center on one boot but i saved 80 pound on them!!!!
I dont wear the aigle much i find them tight around the ankle and a ****er to get off the end of the day.
My favorite of the lot is the toggi ,they are really comfortable and i walk all day in them ,be worth trying a pair on if the shop stocks them.

+ 1 on the HB Neo being a big fit.
    Great boot though.
Word of advice - wear the socks you plan on shooting in when you try em on & insist on walking up & down in then for a few mins. Any sort of looseness will mean extra socks or a smaller size.

The heel kick is great & I like the grip & ankle support.

The seconds seems like some bargain!! Let us know if there are more

    FWIW
I bought a pair of Hunter Balmorals on all the recommendations here for my annual phesant shoot out of Ireland,as the regular Hunters are too tight for me .Yes very comfy to walk in all day etc.No fault there..

BUT if your hunting ground consists of ploughed field or tillage, the sole pattern for getting rid of that kind of mud is total rubbish!!:(
The pattern is more for wet grass and clay mud which is more common here and in the UK rather than ploughd earth and fine till, and I figure that every 100 meters I walked I picked up at least two pounds of mud on them per foot.I was literally kicking mud off them every 100 paces, getting me the nick name of the "muck spreader" by my Hungarian hosts.:D
I had worn normal Hunters there for the last two years and never had this problem,so I guess like off road tyres on your jeep, your wellies should also fit the terrain.

Couldn't belive they were so cheap for something so slight, that john norris site is great for grabbing bargains on.

I'd say that is more to do with the few pounds you put on over the last year than the thread on the boot! :D

Dont mind him Grizz. All bears store a bit extra 'energy' for the tough winter ahead. We won't mention what they do in the woods though! :pac:

To the lads that say theirs wear - what exactly is happening & how much use are the getting?
I.e is it insoles, soles, sides, top, toes etc
Are the used for just hunting or construction type or farm work also?
Seems like very little use life for the price so just curious as to what should be avoided to max out their life
I am currently rinsing mine under the tap & storing indoors after shooting. My old dunlops used be out in the sun rain you name it

    Its not fat..It's "tactical padding":p:p
On a more serious note, the Hunter class of wellie is not designed for any kind of work outside.Try digging a patch of earth with a fork wearing these and your arch will soon telly you it isnt a good idea.As I found out the hard way in Ag college .:(

I used aigles up till now had them for 8 years and there is a tiny tear in them thats why I was changing. I used my aigles for everything shooting, making pens, laying concrete, anything ya could wear wellies for and I got 8 years outta them so they paid for themselves a few times over in my opinion

Anyone know what the charge to send them to Ireland. It does not say at the checkout, just that they will e-mail the cost.

13.50 my boots cost last week , they arrive in a day once you pay, they are great to deal with.

Have been researching this a bit. Have read that Hunter products are not the same after going into administration in 2006 and moving the manufacturing process to the Far East.
Certainly noticed that my own recent Hunters haven't lasted as long as hoped/expected.

Have gone for a pair of Aigle Parcours myself.

I bought a pair of boots from the Decathlon shop in Belfast. I'm not sure if they are down south yet but they are also online. They mostly do their own brand of gear which is made in France called Solognac. I have bought quite a lot of stuff over the past two years and it is the best quality gear available for the price. I can recommend the boots (£45). They also do Aigle Parcours and i tried them both on and went for Decathlon's own brand - and not becasue of the price, they were the more comfortable boot.

what is the quality of the Solognac clothes like , they look too good for the prices quoted? if they are that cheap and good quality i will have to take a spin up

Feck ya.. I bought a pair on your recommendation. Way to warm and after a bit of walking you would need a bucket of water to put your feet.

Great quality. I buy from nowhere else, whether it's hunting gear, fishing gear or football or whatever for the kids.
