Hi all, hope I'm in the right place. I have plans to renovate the family home, basically my parents are going to live in a granny flat and I will be living in the rest of it. Its a big house. We have now come to the stage of sorting it out legally. We were going to divide it into our 2 halves with the agreement that I would take over the whole lot eventually.
But I have my doubts that this is a good idea because are we essentially dividing it into 2 separate properties? What if the whole property was signed over, is it possible that my parents could secure their future and be guaranteed a roof over their heads for as long as they are around? Hope this makes sense, I'd be glad of any advice as I feel the solicitor just wants it sorted and out of his sight. (its been dragging on a while):o
    Thanks
