X and O form and 2 jobs

    Hi,

Just looking for some help for a friend of mine. She is a qualified hairdresser but has no work experience, so is finding it hard to get a job without experience.

She currently is on the casual x and o as she works 2 days a week in tesco sometimes she works 3 but rarely.

She has been offered a job 1 day a week in a salon (tuesday as its a quiet day) and will be getting paid minimum wage and wants to do it for experience and so she can put it on her CV. This works out well as then she works Tuesday/Wed/Thur. But its 2 jobs.

Is it possible to have 2 jobs and be on that x and o?

She has tried to do an intership but she has to do 30+ hours which she doesn't mind, but any of them that have been offered conflict with her hours in Tesco and they can't budge on the days she works. So its kind of a catch 22.

She will be going in to the social on friday to ask but just thought she might get some ideas here thanks

Shouldnt be a problem. Her means will have to be reassessed. Earnings for her second job will be assessed as well as earnings from current job. She may receive less on casual jobseekers allowance than she is receiving now due to re-assessment of means.

You dont say whether she is is on allowance or benefit. I have given the answer for allowance until you clarify this.
