Spied this chap/chapette sitting in the trees the last few mornings while walking the dog. Couldn`t get a close-up but hopefully someone can ID it.
The area is by a large river where a lot of wading birds frequent. Seems to be a loner. Any ideas?

Thanks folks, thought he looked a bit small and fluffy, that expalins it. He`s in a choice spot. Local Bird Sanctuary, plenty of food to keep him going over the winter:D

    Right at home so.
    They're not much bird hunters
More rats and small rabbits and carrion
Though I have seen them take pigeon from time to time
