Anyone know of a website that gives in sequence the changes in permitted categories by year for Full Driving Licences.

    Ie
year that EB automatic entitlement ended
Year M entitlement with B licence ended
    Etc etc

I'm sure they were listed somewhere previously but can't seem to find it...

EDIT: Also full run down of each category given :

    http://rsa.ie/RSA/Licensed-Drivers/Driving-licence/About-your-license/Driving-license-categories/

You might be able to find what you're looking for on there?

    Reply thanks for that...

    Was thinking more of :

    Dates of specific changes

    EB category - 1990
    M categories - 2006
    Etc

What others do you want to know? C1/D1/EC1/ED1 went at the same time as EB. M was on it's own. Don't think there have been any other changes.

IIRC if you've not had the entitlement on your licence for over 10 years you loose it anyway and need to do a test, including theory, to get it back.

Was trying to pinpoint website that had a table of dates - but cannot locate it!

    Theory test introductions?

Any idea if / when motorbike category changes came in ?

I posted about the EB change date a few weeks ago, have a look through my posts.

Don't know when the M change occured but you will find it by looking through the various "Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) (Amendment) Regulations" on www.irishstatutebook.ie

    Thanks for that

The statute book gives the legislative date but a afaik not the date of implementation - there can be some delay due to enabling the actual provisions.

I know of the top of my head that M category was oct 2006.

It's still niggling me about the website I came across previously.!
