Sending Jewellery Abroad

    I know that this has been brought up before, but is there really any alternative to going across the border to send jewellery abroad? I spoke to a guy in the Newry post office a few months back and he said that it can be sent via Royal Mail and you can get extra insurance as well. This would be my last option though, because it's a bit of a hike from Limerick and would take me most of the day to get there and back.

    The reason I'm asking is because I'd like to sell what could potentially be an expensive item of jewellery on ebay (last one I saw on there sold for $2,500) but I'm having trouble finding a courier who will allow jewellery to be sent and allow additional insurance (just in case I'm a lucky girl and make a few bob!).

    Has anyone else managed to find a way round it? Any help/advice really welcome.

    What you're looking for is a High-Value-Goods/Secure courier.

    Night-Line and UPS are the only two I know of (other than the usual G4 security crowd) that do deliveries between Ireland and UK.
