Ok, so, I was made redundant about a month ago (waiting on money from the SIF) So I was getting jobseekers benefit however im told now that myself and herself are moving in together that ill be means tested as she works, now her wages/hours vary so between 200-300ish a week depending on how busy they are. Basically my questions are is it worth our while moving in together or will i loose too much money? As we are if she gets 200 wages that plus my dole minus rent, gas, elec and shopping leaves us with 100 a week between us. We also have a one year old so some of the hundred will be for nappies, wipes food etc Im getting the feeling wed be better off if she didnt move in! Also her details are written on the lease too but im the only one who actually signed the lease I also paid the deposit/first months rent myself. So can I just go back down and say she hasnt moved in? We really cant survive on just her wages over xmas while im means tested.

Job seekers benefit is an entitlement. Its not means tested.
Job seekers allowance is means tested.

Not on benefit. If it runs out and you need JA then you will be means tested.

    That's wrong.

In fact as your OH earns less than €310 you may get a payment for her as an adult dependant

your jsb will continue. You should confirm with sw office that you are in receipt of benefit and not allowance. If its allowance then you will be means tested.

Yes there is no need for it to be suspended as they are assessing if you will get and increase not a decrease.
