    Lads,

Would any of you fine plumbing folk have any input or comments about Glow Worm central heating equipment?

I have a chance to purchase whatever I need at trade price to install GFCH into my house.

    Is it any good ?

I need everything from Rads to boiler etc.

Is there are enhancements you think I should get/use?

    All suggestions welcome.

Not a lover of them. Awkward enough to work on. Pain in the ass electronic pressure gauge.
They also love air, always wanting to keep it in the boiler! Better boilers on the market IMO.

Used to fit alot of them, have never had any issues, no call backs with problems.

I did encounter one with a problem straight out of the box, if i remember correctely a thermostat was wrongly fitted in factory or else came loose , anyway their service agent was there within 2 days and fixed the problem quickly , found their service guy good to deal with.

The flexicom is a handy replacement boiler for the likes of ideals with the rear flue ,
I have a gloworm boiler in my own house 30cxi model , the only issue I ever had with it was a blocked plate to plate heat exchanger , I don't thimk gloworm are a bad boiler , there are better boilers available but are more expensive.

I don't like the rear flue. I go off top with the elbow

As do i , very easy to fit that way actually, you would have it up and hanging on the wall in no time.

Id chose to use a top flue where possible , much better, but its great to have the option when replacing a boiler in a small kitchen unit

True just not fond of it, not a huge amount holding it and you won't know if you disturbed it sending the boiler up

I've been using glow worm for a long time now, KFB, ultimate, micron, hideaway and now the flexicom and I find them great. The new range of intelligent controls are nice kits too.

I would always use a rear flue where possible, it's neater and looks better in my opinion. The flue won't go anywhere if you use the 3 self tappers provided screw to the flue to the bracket. The clamp thing was a bit flimsy and not a great design at all.

I use the flexicom range of boilers, the model will depend on the application and size of the house. The weather comp comes both wired or wireless. The controls were designed by a guy from Nokia again depends on your needs.
C and F the agents also do de longhi and Quinn if your buying from there.
