My head is wrecked with it., what Ye recon is the best transit/transporter size van

Bearing in mind mpg reliability and decent power

    A 85 transit isn't decent power

07-> Trafic/Vivaro/Primastar with the juicier and more powerful/reliable 2.0 115 bhp dCi engine. Watch out for tie/track rods, bushes, wishbones, leaky crankshaft seals, discs.... did I miss anything?

Service history with good oil used is a must !!!!!

Those smaller FWD transits are a nice drive I have to say !

They are known for having a very soft gearbox too.

I know nothing about the reliability as there don't seem to be too many on the road, but I've always thought the Hyundai H1 looks like a decent proposition.

I think they are 170bhp and RWD, so should be able to move (unless it snow of course, then it could be fun without weight in the back).

    Hyundai H1
170hp (you can tune them over 200 if you're silly), RWD, comfy, cheap.

Watch out as the uk ones are only 115hp. (Often badged iLoad)

Ive known plenty of primastars/vivaros/etc. that have needed gearboxes, but the hackney guy round my way has an 07 with 320km on it no problem.

He has changed box oil every second service. Dont know if theres anything in that, but he wouldnt be a gentle guy on a bus. Maybe just lucky.

The only vans i rate, purely on driving experience is a vito or transporter, maybe maybe a primastar.

But if it was mine and i was paying the bills, hiace all the way.

Havent drove a h100 so cant comment.

VW T4 TDI ACV, never-mind any of that common rail propaganda

101hp stock but easily turned into more. 130 with a remap. 150 with nozzles and re-map.

Turbo's are prone failure if the wrong oil is used.

I have to say the vitos are really terrible reliability wise would not touch one. Look after quite a few and in no order. leaking injector seals, broken springs, handbrake setup mincing itself, hvac faults a plenty and main dealer parts when needed are horrendously expensive.

The vivaro, primastar and traffic are cheap and do the job ok but they are soft as a fresh turd. Everything breaks if there used hard

I've heard the owner doesn't take kindly to people making him offers for it ^ though. Really bad attitude.
