I recently received forms to fill out and return to the social welfare in it they ask for proof that I am looking for employment. I have been looking and sending cv's by post, personally handing them in and registering with fas. the problem is I have not received any responses from places I have sent them to. what do I do:(

Give them a copy of the covering letter you posted to each company, And a list of places you hand delivered cvs to with approx dates.

Give them the list of companies you applied for and a few cover letters. They are just looking to see if you applied for any jobs.

    I will thanks for replies.
but if that's the case a person not applying for any jobs could just lie?

It's incredibly easy to check if a company had a position available, given the details put down on that form. The more blanks, the more obvious the spoof looks!

DSP has an investigative unit. Whilst they don't forensically analyse every claim, they do go through a certain % with a fine tooth comb.

I'd imagine in a case like this where there is not concrete proof of job seeking, the case officer might make a couple of phone calls to verify the firm received a CV.
