Looking to buy a NAS for a home network & leaning towards a synology DS412j. Looks like there is software called DSM that comes with it.

Whats not clear is if to use the full functionality of the unit that I need to buy additional software or it comes as standard, on their website it call standard type stuff for a NAS like 'Media Server' ,antivirus, audio station, VPN etc as 'add on packages' . Do these come included or as they extra?

Any other experience, positive or negative, would be greatly appreciated, its for a home network with MAC & PCs
