try David Kearney in Grange, works with lots of very low players, here and in the us.
    €45 for half an hour.
also does SAM putt lab if required.

A good few similar threads on the subject here already but I'd recommend David Lavelle in Spawell driving range. I had 3 lessons with him this year and due another soon. Find him good, currently play off 8 also and looking to improve on that next year. Think he's €30 per half hour but Spawell has changed ownership recently so may now be different.

I recently started having lessons with Kevin Foy in Stepaside driving range and find him excellent.

Yes im very familiar with Grange golf club, i might try him, i have been working with a pro this year who has helped me quite a bit. But im wondering what another pro might view as a main problem i need to address compaired to my pro from this year,,,

How long have you been off 8?
What has your progression been like?
Are you struggling with something specific (hook, slice, etc) or is it general play/scoring?

A playing lesson (6 holes) might suit you better if its a general scoring problem, as above he also does specific putting & shortgame lessons and full lessons on a grass range.
Its a bit pricey but I found him very good the 3 times I went, you come away with 1 or 2 things to work on that will immediately make you better, even if there are other less important things wrong. :o

Been off 7/8 for the last 15 months, my biggest issue is that im very handsy,, and tend to be inconsistent, but when im swinging it well i have no problem bringing in 74/75..... long game is suspect from 150 in im about 4-5 handicap level. short game about 2-3 handicap long game about 14-17 handicap.....

I was going for 9 hole playing lessons with my pro and hittting it well for the most part with him, but i want to be consistent...

I had similar issues, good days were great but bad days were shocking, and even on the good days there could be the odd crazy wild shot.
He identified (during my first lesson) that the issue was setup (mainly grip)
Poor grip was causing me to swing quite flat which in turn was forcing me to get handsy to square up the clubface. If I was having a bad timing day it was painful.
With the changes he gave me now a bad timing day results in a loss of distance or poor strike, but its playable.

Greebo do you know can you use money from 2's etc to pay for lessons?
I see you have had a nice bit of luck recently :D

    Skill "young" man, skill! ;)
Nah, they keep the lessons separate from everything else as far as I know.

I did have a strong grip at the start of last year, over about 3/4 months i eventually got comfortable with a neutral/weak grip, and like you said a bad shot is playable now,,, at the range now i only work on lower clubs 6/5/4 irons,,,

Anyway thanks for the advice, i think i might give this pro a turn, it will be interesting if he see's any of my weaknesses the last pro made me aware of,

Dont get me wrong i got on really well with the last pro, but just felt i have gotten to a level now and not getting better with him, or else im not doing what he has told me....

(I was too strong also, nightmare to live with on a bad day.)
Let us know how you get on, be interested to hear what you think and what he says.

I'd second that - Dave doesn't focus on what you're doing wrong, he just shows you what to do right, and doesn't overload you with too much stuff at once. That suits me anyway.

I am going to John Kelly in St. Margret's and he is excellent...

In 2 lessons I have seen a massive difference and I am really getting to know my swing again so when I hit a bad shot I get what is happening (not stopping me doing it quite yet)

I went to john last year. Expensive , but very good.

Nice way about him and a top class Irish pro himself. Couldn't hit the ball after many of
His lessons, but you have to stick at it.

He will change you radically if that is what you need. He was telling me some lads come in and say "don't change too much".
    I wouldn't have broke 80 without JK.

    Good website.

Been to a many pros in Ireland, England and the states. Found Anthony Martin to be one of the best. Working with him the last 6months and have seen a big difference. I have a special pay agreement with him as he comes to my facilities to coach, but if go to the kinsealy range you can get him for 30 pound. Great value
