Right I went and bought a pair of mavic zxelliums last year but regardless of constantly messing with cleat placement, I can't seem to get thrm 100% comfortable.
I know I need to change my cranks but haven't got the cash right now (running 172.5 and will switch to 170 as soon as I can)
Anyway what I'm looking to find out is has anyone here had any experience with heat mouldable insoles and If so what would you recommend.
    Thanx in advance

i got some of these diadora ones

for my diadora shoes (mainly cos they were on sale), they are slightly better than standard but i havent taken them out so far so they are more comfortable than standard (whether they are better than just a standard replacement insole i dont know)

I've been using these for years now. I find them much better than anything that's come with any shoes I've owned. The pair I have at the moment have about 15000km on them and are still fine.

    I use these:- http://www.scottmedical.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=106&product_id=482

There are a few YouTube clips on them:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJI2mZYiqMw

I found they needed quite a bit of grinding to get them comfortable in the shoe as initially they were too thick for my shoes. Once they were the right size the heat moulding made them a nice fit and they've been comfortable since.

I used them to replace the Sidi insoles that came with the shoes which I found did not support my feet and I suffered foot pain after 20km, the new insoles are comfortable and I've had no trouble over 250km (at least not with the feet!).

If you're not happy to fit them yourself then see a podiatrist.

My intention is to try heat-mouldable insoles at some point, but in the meantime I've found that Specialized insoles have dealt with some significant problems I was having. Turns out that the biggest problem I was having was inadequate arch support, and once I fitted insoles with more arch support (I bought the green Specialised insoles with maximum arch support), the problems largely went away.

Mind you, they are nearly the price of some heat-mouldable insoles so they wouldn't save you much money, I just opted for them as they were readily available and their effectiveness means I've pushed mouldable insoles much further down my list of priorities.

I have these too and they are excellent. I have shown them to a number of physio's and PT's (including Hartmann in Limerick) and they all are impressed with them. I am having trouble re-ordering them, any know where they are available? I need the extra high arch which does not come as standard anymore with them

I have the specialised ones too, got them when I had my bike fit and they make a world of difference. There are different thickness parts you can add or take out to get the fit more comfortable
