If their is no heat and all the teats quarters are even she is most likely springing.

This could unfortunately mean she is losing her calf.

It may not be though but dont rule it out.

Ifs she going to be a good milker she could start softening down in the udder a few months before she calve to though.

mine aren't due til february either but had one springing about 3 weeks ago, she calved on monday , full term calf, all healthy, the holy spirit is alive and well... dont know what put her in calf but heifer and calf are grand.... only problem is she didnt have the rotavec corona long enough before she calved, so will see how the calf goes

how do you know she was due to calf in feb? if you bought her in she may have been bulled before you bought her. SOunds like she is springing so just keep an eye on her. heifers can be a bit unpredicable with the start springing, you could have a letlle fella running around the pen this morning or there mightnt be anything for a fortnight

Think ya can get capsules form rotavirus but think they have to be given to them calf fairly soon after birth, once youre past day 10 you should be ok anyway

I'd say if you could get your hands on "that bull" you know the one that all of these heifers with immaculate conceptions were "never near" you'd make a fortune getting cows with fertility problems in calf.:D

I find if you have a scrub bull anywhere within ten miles, he will be the first to get them in calf.

I Ai'd 2 suckler heifers on the same day last Jan. One started getting a " dug" after 5 months and had a huge bag of milk at calving and the other hadn't a sign of being in calf till her time was up......guess which has the most milk now!!!!!
