An Inca or Kangoo with a crewcab would surely just be a car, would it not?

I've heard of Toyota Amazons, Peugeot Partners, Hyundai Trampjets and Kia Sedonkeys as crewcabs for example

Mercedes Vito too but would that be a bit too big?

Yep,hes on the lookout for a smaller van with crewcab and a some loading space in the back for some tools and equipment.

Says he saw 2 or 3 of them in the UK and here in Dublin but cant remember what make of van they were.

Also available from around 2002/2003 I think? Have seen them on DoneDeal from time to time. Not sure it'd work out with tax/insurance though?

My mate is currently over on a holiday in the UK,and he is also looking at a few of these. Both 1.7 and 1.3 engined Vauxall crewvans.

So does anyone know............Are these a commercial or a private car/van then or what??

When VRTing it,would it be classed and regged/taxed in Ireland as a commercial here in Ireland....with regards the back seats and the size and load weight???

    Thanks.:)

Crew cabs won't get commercial VRT. My brother brought in a crew cab transit tipper a while ago, and he got hammered for the 13.3% of OMSP, so instead of €200 got hit for........ € 1600.

Now, I don't know about those very small vans: post 08 they might be cheap to import as cars, based on emissions.

Now that is very interesting: I've been mulling over something like that for ages.........but never saw one of those before.

Anyway, I just lifted the phone to Revenue, and they have told me that.........
    1. That vehicle type is Class B, and is 13.3% of OMSP
    2. It will be registered as a van on the VLC
    3. Road tax: she actually said I was the 3rd person today that asked the same thing, and there is no hard & fast answer.
    4. You may find that for that Kangoo, that car tax might be cheaper as a car........

we have a vw caddy crewcab

Did you buy it as a crewvan or did you get it converted into a crewvan?

if it was converted, was it expsnsive to do??

And is it classed as a commercial van then and is if cheaper to insure and tax as a commercial or as a private crewvan?

    Thanks.:)

It is leased, and was new as a crewcab from vw in 2012. But does not have side doors. It's up north so on northern plates so no issues with tax. But you can get them with windows
