    Hi im new to this for a start so i dont know if im even posting this in the right place but i need advice on a final notice for a TV licence. Today i got a letter regarding the TV licence (which i dont have by the way) it says that a " television licence inspection unit have submitted a request to this office to prosecute you in respect of an alleged offence" it also say that i was found with a unlicensed television receiving apparatus and that after 5 day of the date on the letter that a summons will be issued to the district court what do i do and where do i stand

    your admission of guilt is a good place to start

    You will be better off at least. All they want is you to pay for the licence.

    I have heard that if you get one immediately, then it's far less likely they will bring you to court. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL COURT, as you will then have to pay AND be fined etc.

    If the letter has YOUR NAME then they will come looking for you. I would recommend getting a licence today, if you can afford it, and then ringing them up and ask them what is next.

    If you have not the cash to buy one, or a credit card with credit to buy online, then contact them immediately. You might be able to get TV stamps etc and pay slowly.

    You can't blame them for doing something, if they don't hear from you and you still don't get a licence.

    Firstly, there is a general Boards policy against giving legal advice, and secondly there is a rule on this forum that all TV Licencing queries are posted in the dedicated thread.

    OP I think its a solicitor you need to consult with at this stage TBH.
