    Hi,

Just a quick question I'm not sure of, wondering if anyone could help?

Section 18(6) of the Electricity Regulation Act 1999 "An order under this section shall not provide for the use of nuclear fission for the generation of electricity."

If this was ever to change in the future, who would be responsible for changing it? Does it need to go to a referendum?

    Thanks!

As it refers to a order made under the act, then the act would need to be changed to remove this term, by the Oireachteas.

Then an order would have to be made by the minister of Energy at the time.

There is more up-to-date laws about nuclear stuff, I think the ff/pd/greens banned uranium mining and may have banned setting off a nuclear bomb(1 year in prison and a 10,000 fine in the district court..... )
