A new Nike store is opening in Blanchardstown and I applied for their Store Associate (Athlete) position. Has anyone else applied/interviewed for this position? Anyone here who currently works with Nike in this position want to give a description of day-to-day tasks/responsibilities, pros and cons?

Oh this morning i see. Yeah the phone interview lasted now around 20 minutes as she asked more qs than normal to me. I hope they dont dwell on the history of the company NIKE itself as i didnt go into much detail just few pointers , years set up , locations, products, but will know more for the interview itself.eek .Did she say one week for you also yeah ? Nina was it yeah :)

My interviewer was male and very friendly so it was a relaxed interview, even though it did indeed have many questions! I think that's because the new store opening is so popular so there is a lot of competition. I was told two weeks and a mention of assessment centres in January. Not sure what to expect from that though...

It's for the Blanchardstown store, as I didn't apply to the Dublin Grafton Street store. I don't do sports anymore (used to do camogie) but I talked about how I'm into running/power walking and I do use their gear for that already. Were you told anything about the assessment centres? Also, was rates of pay brought up in your interview?

Hey oh ok yeah ok thanks. Yes rates of pay was brought up, this could be the average minimum wage , as all of them do that or based on past experience. oh this looks too good to be true to be offered this now looks like a strict process but we will see how it goes. I just hope my experience will help. Yeah i been at sports all my life few sports over the years so i mentioned that. :)

Ah ok thats good you mentioned your running, yeah em hmh it is for blanch as there is a new store there, could also be for both locations. Well dont bother me as i can get to both easily :). No mention of assesment centre just face to face interview in the dublin office.

Do you have much past experience? And it's weird that the mentioned a face to face interview for you, because anyone I know who applied to Blanch was told about an assessment centre, so maybe yours is for Dublin City.

Athlete is the name given to Store Associates with Nike. Then Managers are called 'Coaches' I think. Did you apply for the Blanch store too?
