    Hey everybody,

i have a '08 hyundai accent and a recent service showed that i have to replace several parts of the front suspension, but the price seems excessive. had similar issues with a focus a few years back and wasn't this much (must be my speeding over speed bumps).
anyway, can any of you tell me if this price list seems good/bad/ugly

    thanks

    p/s front wishbone 180.24
    d/s front wishbone 192.67
    p/s lower ball joint 72.69
    p/s track rod 53.16
    p/s track rod end 53.74
    labour 3.5hrs 315.00
    vat @ 13.5% 117.03

    Total 983.95

Seriously, I'd say that's excessive. From a quick check online your quote's for parts are twice if not more than that of spurious parts. You don't necessarily have to change the wishbones if you can get the bush's for them. Should be much cheaper than forking out for two new wishbones (Thats if it's the bush's that are gone of course).
Two busted wishbones, track rods and a ball joint gone......the car must feel like a Reliant Robin:eek:

I can only assume you are being quoted prices for genine parts which are probably unnecessary. Also it is hard to imagine all them components requiring change at the one time unless you are extremely abusive, its not a Megane II we are dealing with.

Probably not busted wishbones just soft/deteriorated bushes.
Febi stuff from Mister-auto would cost you less than half that.
    Wishbones €70-85
    Balljoint €32
    Tie rod outer €14
    Tie rod inner €33
    Bellows €10

Are these prices from a main dealer?

I presume you have very high mileage? If not then there is something strange about all those parts being required so soon IMO.

    thanks for the replies all

mileage is 80,000 km, but as said in original post, i'm a f*cker for flying over speed bumps. and there are 15 i go over on my way to work, and back, 5 days a week. must be more careful.

yes, from a main dealer, so parts are 'genuine' a quick search also showed me parts for half the price.

not sure where to go next, anyone want to recomend a good suspension man swords area?

There are numerous independent garages you can go to. I don't know the cost of the after market parts off the top of my head but I'd be expecting it to come to close to half the price, especially the labour rate.

    Cheers Nissan Doctor,

yeah the labour price was the one than made me run away from him. (i knew the parts were pricey cos they were 'genuine')
