Just a quick one for all you candle lovers. Has anyone noticed the difference between cheap candles and proper candles.

    Cheap Candles
    Small Flame
Flame burns down right down into a crater, so much so you can hardly see the flame just a glow.
Tend to melt candle wax down very fast and allmost dissolve spilling wax everywhere if not contained.
    Dark smokey flame
    Last feck all time

    Proper Candles
    large intense bright flame
    Non Smoking
Doesnt melt or drip just evaporates as its burned
    Last AGES

I got some Large church style candles in Ikea recently but have not used them yes. Anyone have any recommendations on where to get decent candles or brand thats good?

Dunnes Stores candles are excellent. The scented ones are just as good as Yankee or other expensive ones.

Rathbornes candles make some of the best candles in the world, are Irish and are the oldest candle company in the world. Ikea et all are junk tbh.

I used to stock up on cheap candles in IKEA, too, but I now only use them for tea lights etc. that I use up in large amounts.

The nicest, but often the most expensive, candles I think are beeswax candles. I really like the natural smell of them. If anyone has any recommendations where to find them for a reasonable price in Dublin I'd be delighted.
