I have a 300l s/s dual coil cylinder - bottom coil is solar and the top coil is H/W. There in a connection inbetween the top coil (labeled circulation behind stat on pic) which seems to run out to a drain off, would this be correct?

Also if my hot water is at full temp, and the solar kicks in on a day with some winter sun, it will circulate around the solar pumping station at 30-40 degrees say, will this eventually drop my cylinder temp down if its already at 60? there seems to be no stat on the solar controller saying that the cyclinder is already up to temp and not required...
