    I'd go for the ath40's a little cheaper at http://www.thomann.de/ie/audio_technica_athm40fs.htm They are proper pro headphones 'cause they don't have a mini jack!

    For wearing all day comfort and really good sound quality you can't go far wrong with Beyer Dynamic DT 770's.

    And lightweight for wearing on the bus : http://www.gradolabs.com/page_headphones.php?item=7dc9cd9943a15d7462ff0da21ff04a15

    My (don't break the bank!) faves are: Sony MDR-7508; Sennheiser HD-25, BeyerDynamic DT 770....

    Notes: watch out if buying the Senn HD 25 they make a similar looking much cheaper model that sounds......well........much cheaper;

    Sony's are hard to beat - and the pricier Sony's, while possessing that characteristic Japanese snap in the upper registers, are never shrill or annoying - I've had mine since 1993 - these dont sound anything like those consumer or DJ cans - this is Sony Professional - WOMAD mixing consoles and all that stuff;

    The Beyers are great and very isolated.

    The Grados are great but not for the bus, they are open back and the sound leaks more than enough to upset everyone on the bus.

    Agreed! Absolutely not for the bus! - you'll hear music + bus

    Besides, the OP is looking for cans for use in the studio - one assumes for tracking , monitoring. The Grados are no good for tracking as they'll bleed cue mix all over your open recording mics.

    The AKG K271 MKII are meant to be really nice closed headphones, I am currently awaiting some in the post :D
