If you we're approached or drawn into a conversation on a work night out by a work colleague (not your boss or manager) that you disliked and had major issues with for certain reasons and you had a few drinks too many, would you be brave enough to tell them what you thought of them and why you disliked them or would you play the game and let it go? Take into account this person isnt too keen on you either and dislikes you. Personally I'd love to be the loose canon and fire it all out. Same thanks you get as saying nothing.

Happens a lot, especially this time of year. Then the people would go back to work and hang their head in shame for a month. Never heard much of any real consequences though.

I've never went mental at staff but tired it on with lots of chicks I shouldn't of. Always have been and always will be a disaster at work parties.

    Smell of shame off me.

Never tackle an issue like that with drink on you. Do it when your sober.

Been there, done that, don't drink at work events anymore. My present boss is a wanquere, when the drink goes in the truth comes out.

Also, in the last place I worked the accounts manager was banned from work parties for feeling up the female staff.

Take into account this person is still your boss, and it wouldn't quite be the same thanks as saying nothing when you arrive into work on Monday morning and face disciplinary action!

I'm not saying don't go to the office party. I'm saying just don't go getting rat àrsed, and keep a civil tongue in your head!

Go on, throw a drink over his head and tell him he's a c*nt then burn his house down.

Not in this case only a work colleague.

Seriously tho, I know I know I know, this is AH. But anyone who tries to deal with work issues with drink taken is running a serious risk of getting the sack or worse. I've seen it in my time I can tell ya. If you think you might have issues with someone and the Dutch courage might help you sort it out, it won't. Be prepared to emigrate.

Play the game. You can call them every kind of CUNextTuesday behind their back but you don't know when they'll be appointed company MD or when you'll have to rely on them.Keep zipped! Same goes for dipping your pen in company ink!!

He got off lightly. If statements were made formally, I would have sacked him.
