There is a crowd in roscrea in tipp that run lurcher racing events every few months. Think it's roscrea working dog club or association is the name they go under. I could try get ya contact numbers if ur interested

I'd say you're out of luck - never heard of a lurcher taking part in licensed coursing. Not my sport so I'm possibly wrong.
That said I doubt a lurcher of any type would keep into a full hound - properly bred and trained? I've been to Clonmel a few times - they're serious animals.
Don't forget that it's illegal to course a hare without a license.

If you're on about that lure coursing then just ring the organisers of any lurcher and terrier show and they will tell you how to enter. Checkout thehuntinglife - they have a section just for upcoming shows in Ireland and the UK.

The lure / flapper racing should kick off again from April till September. As the others have said, the roscrea working dogs social club organise events regularly and aswell as the hunting life site, they will advertise on 'dundeal' too. Theres racing in Caim, Enniscorthy and Old leighlin in Carlow. Some really good days out here and great craic.

You'll probably have to buy a racing muzzle for the lurcher-some organisers demand them even though the dog is just chasing the lure (in case one dog bites another in the chase)

If you would like to see a coursing meeting taking place theres one this weekend in Castletown Geoghegan Co. Westmeath some smashing dogs running, although there all full hounds im sure you could chat to a few lads and they could send you in the right direction.
