Unwanted contact with an ex

I feel as though I'm in a tricky situation at the moment. A few months back, a friendship developed into a relationship which has now turned quite sour. The problem is, I'm on the same course as this guy in college. We've got mutual friends, which makes life all the more difficult.
This guy has really hurt me and my instant reaction is to cease contact with him as I'm extremely angry about the way he's treated me, however, I fear this would make life difficult for all involved. If the circumstances were different, I'd cut ties immediately to allow myself to heal and move on.
Has anyone got any tips on how to handle a situation like this?

It's an awkward position to be in. Are you able to meet up with your friends without his involvement? I'm not sure what you can do if you're in the same class as him. You're going to have to see past this though, as your college work is far too important.

The best way to deal with this is to pretend you couldn't care less. Mix with everyone, including him and just shrug off any bad feelings you have towards him. You will feel much better and it will show him that you don't care. Best of Luck.

Mind me asking what he did to hurt you? Is it something that you can never possibly forgive or just that you need time, he needs to grow up and show you he can do better, etc.

If it's the latter, I'd say your best bet is to limit contact with your friends until the dust has settled. Maybe afterwards, when you feel he has changed and you're ready to try and make it work, you can start hanging out more with everyone. Give yourself time to heal and focus on something else.

If, of course, it's the former and he did something completely unforgivable that has ruined the relationship, I'd do the above. Go out, mingle and forget about him. If he did something that you can never forgive, I can't see why you would have any feelings left for him anyway.

    go out with friends
    ignore him
    its that simple
    dont make your friends choose
other wise you'll end up been worse then him

act as if you dont care
    and move on
dont meet other fellas in front of him unless you genuinely like the other fellas, other wise you'll end up making him jealous (if hes the sort) which could cause more tension
if he does it, well then just tell your mates about him and see what they think
ya didnt really give us much to work with
