C.E. Scheme & State Pension

If someone is due to finish on a c.e. scheme having used up their total time allowed on the scheme and is only 15months off retirement (age 66 in 2015)

what way will the DSP view a situation like this. e.g. leave them finish out on the scheme till 66 or make them finish and put them on JSB.

Generally you will have to claim a social welfare payment until you reach retirement age.Just as a aside are they on the part time job option http://www.fas.ie/en/Communities/Community+Employment/Eligibility+%E2%80%93+Participant/Part-time+Job+Option.htm this has up to 6 years on the CE scheme

Yup part time option is the one their on, 6yr up dec 12 months.

Am just speculating if they would be left on the c.e. scheme for most if not all of the remaining 15mths to SP (especially as Transition Pension will no longer exist)

I know if on jsb going into the last 12months before SP and it was due to run out then you can stay on it regardless.
