UPS Delivery: "THE RECEIVER IS NOT LISTED..."

    Hi all,
Problem with getting stuff delivered via UPS to Limerick city:
"THE RECEIVER IS NOT LISTED ON THE BUILDING DIRECTORY. UPS IS ATTEMPTING TO OBTAIN THE INFORMATION AND COMPLETE DELIVERY."

Is it a bit odd in that it was "destination scan" in Shannon very early in the morning and this delivery problem update (only update for today) only came through at about 17:00 (8 - 9 hours later)? Odd in the sense that most other couriers usually have an "out for delivery" status / attempt in their tracking but UPS doesn't?

I phoned UPS and confirmed that the address that they do have is correct and didn't somehow get mangled / distorted during transit to Ireland.

The address is my home address (a major residential estate) that never gave problems to other couriers like DPD, NPX and GLS.

So what do I have to work with in the sense of what sort of directions should I be prepared to give UPS? Basically does anyone have any idea how UPS find their way around so I can make a guess at the level of guidance I'll need to give UPS?

the driver needs yours phone number, the shipper probably didnt supply it or its missing digits, contact UPS and provide your mobile number. they will pass it on directly to the local depot and sort it out

The receiver is not listed on the building directory. UPS is attempting to obtain the information and complete delivery. / A postcard has been sent to the recipient requesting that they contact UPS.
    An alleged attempted delivery today.
Apparently they use the Geo-directory from AnPost to find the locations.

It is obvious to me they did not attempt a delivery, and just filled in something to cover them.

I had great fun trying to sort it out .... made a phone call, was given a specific number for the light parcels section, rang them to be told by some guy that I would have to ring an 1890 number and they did not deal with this.
I rang the general number again (not the 1890), had a discussion with another bloke who was helpful, rang back the second number and the guy who answered this time confirmed the parcel was for delivery and took my phone number.
It is to be delivered tomorrow morning.

I have received parcels from UPS previously without bother.

I strongly suspect they have someone working in Shannon who does not like to do his job!

Well done for not calling the 1890 number, I'd imagine a lot of people do, and pay a fee to have their 'details updated'.

That 'someone' in Shannon probably has a lucrative reason for not doing his job!
