    Budget of around €600 but could stretch a tad more if needs.As much throat and height as poss,anyone give me some ideas? Thanks

    Whatever your hoping to get try and get one with a least 1 1/2 - 2 hp motor.

    Look at a Scheppach Basato 3h, available at McQuillans Dublin and probably other places too. Comes in just under 600 Euro. 200mm cutting height if that's enough for you. It's variable speed which may/may not be of use to you. Cast iron table. Good blade guides. Comes with a floor stand, on wheels. Like any saw that size, you'll need a dust extractor or it gets very bunged up!

    Nothing beats having a look before buying. Check out the Record tool show - they come to various outlets in the ROI from time to time. I'd try for a name brand before a Chinese made one. You are at the budget end of the market and you might get a better deal on a second hand one.
