JSA, part time work, x's and o's paperwork

I have been on JSA, just got casual part time work in a bar covering peoples days off for two days a week, around 16 hours.
I think I've worked out that working two days a week at approx 90 euro a day, I'll get about 290 in total per week including my new JSA allowance.
I told the lady in the social welfare office today. I'm starting this Fri so I'll be working Fri & Sat.
The lady gave me dockets that I'm to hand in every week which are pretty straight forward.
She also gave me a sheet for me and my employer to fill out.
I gave it to my boss and he wasn't sure as to what to fill in as it says how many days will I be working, how much gross a day etc.. which days..
It's just that my days might change every week. It will be two days though as it's covering the full timers days off.
Then at the back of the sheet she gave me to fill in it says please fill in persons hours for last 13 weeks!? But I have only started working..

I'm not sure how pedantic they will be when they put my paperwork through!?

Any help from people who have gone through the process will be appreciated.

    Thanks

The 13 weeks can be ignored as you are only starting work.As for different days just put down the first weeks days with a note saying they (days worked) will vary from week to week. The 13 week bit of the form will be sent out again so keep a careful record of what days you work.

My daughter is on jsa also and was lucky enough to pick up part time work 2 /3 days per week. She is using these forms also. Just one thing puzzles me .saturday counts for day worked . But I thought social welfare payments don't include saturdays anymore ( you get paid for 5 days now instead of 6 )

If you work 2 days they will only pay you 3 days social welfare, the rate is calculated by dividing your weekly rate by 6.

Thanks a mill, I know the staff are very busy in the welfare office but it's impossible to get through on the phone and you can be queuing for ages so I appreciate you royally taking the time to answer!

If you meet the conditions the Part Time Jobs Incentive Scheme may be a better option than casual work. It allows certain long term unemployed people work up to 24 hours per week over any shift pattern earning any amount. You get a payment of 119 euro or 193 an with adult dependant. There are no other benefits retained other than medical card, you can also receive a FIS payment if you qualify for that.

I think I do meet the conditions after reading about it.
I'm not sure how I'm going to be taxed on the €200 pw I will earn?!

Do you think I would get more money with the initiative scheme?

I am so confused trying to calculate it!?

    Thanks a million

Tax forum will be the place for that question,http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1208

After a quick look at the initiative scheme it appears you would be better off on it.
But you should if possible go into to your local office and ask them.

Hi, my brother was recently let go and has been on JSA for about 6 weeks now. Some neighbours and friends have offered him bits and pieces of painting and gardening work but nothing that could be classed as employment. Is there any way he can do this work legally while he is on the JSA. He would rather do it legally i.e. can he just not sign on for the days that he is working.

As he is signing for JSA he will be means tested and all income needs to be declared. Therefore he needs to inform the dept about the work, not just sign off on those days.

Just sign off for the days worked,a day or so after is the norm.
