Hey there I thinking of putting DCU as my top choice and was wondering is DCU a good place to meet new people? I've been to the Open Day last year.

Yes, I think it's a pretty good place to meet new people. What I found was during orientation week is hard to pick out who was actually in my class as there's a lot of stuff on with a mixture of class groups but once lectures start you get chatting to people, this can be hard and some people take a while to get going but aside from lectures there's tonnes of societies and SU events for the first week. Societies are where you'll find like minded people and the SU will be sending out party invites left, right and centre. Again, if you're shy it can take a while to talk to people but if you're up for it you won't have a problem. I've always found people are polite and friendly too. It may seem weird going up to people and introducing yourself but they'll be thankful you made the first move

The social life is pretty good. Just have to get the balance of work and going out right and you'll be fine. Made some real good mates in the last two years. Everyone is mad sound

If you live on campus you'll make tons of new mates.
