Kitchen micro system - CD loading?

    Hi there

I'm looking to get a new micro system for my mum's kitchen. I'm just wondering is there any benefit in getting a tray loading CD player or a top loading one?

We had top loaders before that eventually got very temperamental. I don't know if this is because of the mechanism or if it is just a symptom of being in a kitchen. Or if a tray one would be any better.

    Any advice would be great

    Thanks

    I got a Sony ICF-CDK50.
That was 18 months ago, probably a newer model, but its an under counter one.

Got it on ebay, it was a bit expensive in uk shops (£250 compared to €60), but sound is great for a kitchen, has a remote that has a magnet so you can leave it on the fridge, decent fm radio and of course an aux input so you can stick your mp3 player to it. Even has a little cradle to hold your mp3 player. Even has a timer on it, so you don't need a kitchen timer.
But the most important thing is, it saves valuable counter top space.
