There seems to be a raft of knowledge in here, so here’s my situation.
Buying a new house (no sniggering please) and in my current abode I have a Saorview TV, and an old free-to-air receiver which picks up non-HD UK channels.
The dish is the landlord's, so I’m dishless.
I plan to buy a second TV for the bedroom.

I/we want to be able to watch
    1) The Irish Channels
    2) Free-to-air UK channels
    3) Free-to-air German channels

I’m presuming that I need 2 satellite dishes and 1 aerial for the Saorview. Am I correct?
Has anyone any recommendations for suitable dishes (I’d prefer smaller seeing as there will be 2)
Or is there an elegant solution whereby both signals can be accessed at the same time on the 2 TVs? I’m assuming not.

Inside, what would I need to ensure that both signals are available to both televisions.
Also, what would I need to have Saorview on both?

Finally, if we weren’t talking and both wanted to watch different channels from the one satellite, is that possible?
    Thanks in advance.
    Jacool.

If you have never put up a dish yourself I would recommend paying a professional installer to do it. You would need to find an installer who is used to installing "foreign satellite" as many are clueless on this aspect.

You won't need two dishes. You can use one slightly larger dish with two LNBs. One is for the UK sat channels and another for the German channels.

What you want is indeed possible.

What exact model of receiver do you currently have? Are you going to buy a new receiver?

    thanks zg3409.
I would be buying a new receiver as the current one was a lidl special offer from years back that I put into use after my Sky box gave up. (I had been out of contract for ages at this stage)

I'm delighted with the idea that one dish would do.
Does that mean that the 2 LNBs can function at the same time, independently of one another?
I will be using a professional as I have outed myself here as an amateur, and haven't even addressed the vertigo issue!

Yes two LNBs can function at the same time.
