Vat registration threshold for supplying goods and services?

    Hi all,
Hope someone can answer these queries as I've had trouble figuring it out. I'm a sole trader in home decoration and most of my invoices would break down as goods 70% (curtains, wallpaper, lamps, mirrors etc) and services 30% (painting, upholstery, curtain making etc. All carried out by third parties). Am I required to register for VAT when my turnover reaches €75,000 or when it reaches €37,500? Also, what VAT rate would I then charge - I think the two thirds rule applies but do I need to get Revenue to confirm/approve this?
    Any answers appreciated.
    Thanks

Revenue VAT section can tell you this with one phone call. Don't be afraid of them. They're very approachable.

    Hi

In your case the threshold would be €37500 per annum.

The rate would depend on whether or not the 2/3rd rule applied and if so the amount of the VAT chargeable on the goods.
