Does your car heat up as normal?

Could be as simple as a stuck valve

I'd be checking your coolant. Lack of heat and the engine light would suggest to me your engine isn't getting any coolant. If you're very lucky you haven't cooked anythin.
coolant was topped up in service the other day could it be air locked maybe or to much put in.

Agree, stop driving now as there is more than likely s hole in your coolant tank which means ur going to burn the engine out if you keep driving.. Don't fill it up with water and thinks its fine again as it will b for hf an hr until u see the smoke billowing out of the bonnet..

    Speaking from experience

sounds like your thermostat is gone!! feel the pipes going from your radiator to thermostat (this one will be at the top of the encine) then feel the one returning to the radiator(at the bottom of engine) if the one at the bottom is cold and 1 at the top is hot its most likely a stuck thermostat!! good thing is they dont cost much and are easy enough to replace with a little bit of mechanical knowledge!!

go back to the garage and ask them exactly what they did for you if he mentions anything about coolant been topped up, then explain that your heaters are not blowing hot air have you checked your coolant levels?? and when your checking your pipes to see if there hot and cold let the car warm up to half way to allow the thermostat to open failure to that its more than likly stuck if so its not a big job

Thanks for replying it was a small crack on the weld of one off the pipes from the thermostat housing. So a bit of compound for filling cracks stop the leak.
