    Hi all,

    My girlfriend is returning to Ireland after a year working abroad in 2 weeks, so we said we'd go on a mini break somewhere in Ireland on NewYears for three nights.

    I've wittled it down to Belfast or Westport, just wondering which people would think would be the better option...and also some hotel/lodge/B&B advice would always be welcome!

    Looking for a nice, relaxing few days, so somewhere comfortable would be great.

    Cheers everyone

    Two very contrasting options..!

    No contest for me. Westport all the way. Beautiful small town on the west coast. Always looks lovely over Christmas/New Year.
    Lovely Pubs/restaurants. Weather permitting beautiful walks, beaches etc.

    In terms of accomodation;
    Castlecourt Hotel
    Wyatt Hotel
    Clew bay hotel
    Reidys B&B beside Castlecourt
    All centrally located.

    Pubs;
    Matt Molloys
    McGings beside "the clock"
    Loads more to choose from

    Somebody else might be able to do a better sell, but overall I think Westport is the business!
    But I'm bias as I grew up there..!!

    Enjoy your break whereever you choose.

    Westport all the way.

    Also, Belfast isn't a good place now with the flag flying controversy and no guarantee it'll be sorted soon
